Identity V Lag Fix: Ping, FPS & Chase Desync

If Identity V is lagging, one of two things is wrong, and they need opposite fixes. Your phone might be struggling to render the match, or your kiting inputs might be reaching the server too late. Name the problem before you touch anything.
The cipher machine tells you which. Sit on a decode with no terror radius near you and watch the frames. Stuttering there, in the quiet, is a phone problem.
Smooth decode that shatters the instant a Hunter starts the chase is the other thing entirely. You pre-drop the pallet and vault clean, and the game downs you anyway because the input landed a heartbeat late. Most players on a fine home connection sit in this second group and never realize it, because the graphics look perfect right up until the chase.
That gap decides matches. A single early down in a 1v4 puts the rescue on a timer and the decode progress in freefall. Lose the chase you should have kited out, and you’ve handed the Hunter a free chair.
The route fix worth doing first
There’s exactly one cure for a slow path, and it’s rerouting the data instead of editing the game. It sits at the network level, beside Identity V rather than inside it, so nothing in the app changes and the anti-cheat sees the same clean game it always does.
Two minutes of setup. The Identity V booster does that job: pick Identity V from the list and press Optimize. It probes the ways into your server and holds the match on the one with the lowest, steadiest response.
Only the match rides that path. Your chat, your feed, whatever’s downloading in another app keeps using the ordinary connection, which is why the battery and data cost barely registers.
We recorded that side-by-side on a Mobile Legends match, same routing this guide walks you through. The default path swung between 120 and 217 ms all game. The optimized one flattened out at 28-32 ms, identical match, nothing else adjusted.
The other demo shows the frame side of it. A capture that lurched between 25 and 45 FPS steadied to 60 once the route quit choking the feed. Identity V answers to a clean path for the same reason. A late-registered hit is really just extra distance in a survivor’s costume.
There’s a limit worth stating plainly. Rerouting is all this does. A Wi-Fi signal that keeps cutting out mid-match is beyond it, and so is a phone that’s been cooking through a ranked streak. Those belong to the device, which is the next section.
When the phone can’t keep up
Stutter that shows before any Hunter loads means the hardware is maxed. Go down this list in order.
Match the frame cap to the phone, not the menu. Plenty of players toggle High Frame Rate on and forget it, then blame the hitching on lag. A mid-tier device that holds a rock-steady 60 feels better than one reaching for a higher number and dropping half of it. Set the cap your phone actually sustains through a full match.
Turn the pretty stuff off. Knock shadow quality down and switch special effects off. Dropping the resolution a step helps too on an older phone. The manor still looks suitably grim and the frame rate stops sagging. Shadows are the worst offender, and they tank hardest during the chases you most need to read.
Switch off Low Power Mode. Both iOS and Android throttle the chip to stretch battery, which is exactly wrong in the middle of a decode. Top the phone up between queues instead of playing on a saver.
Cool it down. Pull the charger and strip off a thick case. If the phone feels warm, rest it a minute before you queue again. A hot chip sheds frames that no setting can claw back, and horror maps in ranked heat a device fast.
When the connection is the weak link
If the trouble only surfaces during chases, go after the path instead.
Move to the 5 GHz band. The old 2.4 GHz one is slower and shares air with every microwave and neighbor around you. When the router offers both, join the 5 GHz network and play nearer to it. For chase desync, this is the biggest fix you can make without an app.
Free up the pipe you’re sharing. A 4K stream in the next room or a console grinding an update pulls from the same connection your match needs. Pause the heavy downloads before you queue.
Ignore the DNS advice. Swapping DNS changes how fast a server name resolves, not how far your packets travel. It does nothing for a chase that snaps you backward. The trick gets recommended constantly and it’s a dead end here.
When none of that is enough
Some lag simply isn’t on your end. When a whole server drags during an event or a maintenance slot, the entire lobby feels it and nothing on your phone changes the math. Identity V runs on regional servers, and a strained one on a peak night will rubber-band everyone in the room no matter how clean their setup is.
Rerouting earns its keep when your connection is healthy but the trip to the server is long or tangled, which is the usual story for anyone getting sent the scenic way around. It can’t conjure a good server out of a bad one. If your ping stays ugly across every game and every network you try, the fault is further upstream than any phone app can reach.
Start with the frame cap and the 5 GHz band. If chases still desync after that, it’s the route, and the route is what a good ping for gaming rests on. The same repair travels to any reflex-heavy mobile match, whether that’s Free Fire lag or high ping in ranked.
